Relaxing Among Friends
In addition to our workshop sessions we meet every Wednesday afternoon at the Dereham Cancer Care Centre next to the Cowper Road car park for a social get-together. Here there is plenty of space to sit and chat over a cup of tea or coffee or try your hand at some crafts or games.
Social Afternoons
In 2025 we moved our social afternoons from Dereham Theatre Company’s premises to the more spacious Dereham Cancer Care building in the middle of town. It is ideal for those members who just like a natter over a hot drink or who want
to sit and relax in the lounge area.
We would like to be able to have the workshop and social groups together in the same building our growing membership so we are now looking for new premises where we can do just that.
Out and About
In addition to our social afternoons in Dereham we arrange visits to places of interest around the county, and beyond. Past visits have included Fransham Forge, Langham Glass and the City of Norwich Aviation Museum.
We also attend regular quiz nights throughout the year which often include a meal. These are good fun despite the fact that we are regular winners of the wooden spoon awarded to the last placed team. The fact that the wooden spoons
are made in our workshop adds a certain irony to this dubious accolade.
Days out planned for 2026 include a trip to RAF Marham Aviation Heritage Centre and Bletchley Park Museum.
