Since it started last year, Dereham Men's Shed has been fortunate enough to use space donated by a local business for its workshop. At our meetings in March one of our members treated us to a very interesting demonstration of furniture restoration. We learned about different types of veneers, wood stains, and repairs to damaged veneer while all attending were encouraged to have a go at some practical work. This project will continue at our workshop giving those interested the opportunity to learn more and have the chance to take part in the restoration of a cabinet which, once completed, will be sold to raise funds. Our Men's Shed has re-opened its doors for the New Year and we all are looking forward to the coming year. We meet every Wednesday between 2.00 and 4.00 PM in the Dereham Baptist Church off the High Street. Come along for a cup of tea and a chat and make some new friends. Over the past few weeks we have been preparing to move in to our new shed. Up to now we have been meeting at the unit next door while the larger unit is being vacated so by the end of the month we will have (hopefully) moved in.  We will be announcing an Open Day shortly. Membership will be available from 1 August 2018 with an annual fee of £15.00. More information here.  

We will be visiting our new premises in the next few days and will finally be able to start fitting it out. First indications are that we will be able to open Dereham Shed mid-July, but this is dependant on a number of things, not least is getting suitable insurance in place. We have been extremely fortunate getting our premises rent-free and it is benefactors like this (name coming soon!) who Shed's rely on to get them on their feet. More news coming soon!
